Abstract

In Florence, a study has been done showing that there have been numerous cases of tourists in this city who have suffered from Stendhal Syndrome, a psychosomatic illness resulting from intense exposure to numerous beautiful works of art in one place. We can observe the main cultural sites of the city and a psychiatrist explains the Stendhal Syndrome. Nicola Cariglia, who works at Florence city council, is also questionned about the tourist aspect of the city.
