Abstract

Coinciding with the Euromediterranean Conference, the Euromed Civic Forum and an alternative NGO forum, this program presents a portrait of the social and economic situation in Morocco, Egypt and Lebanon. The main problems affecting the Mediterranean region are examined: vast differences in the demographic growth rates between north and south, the economic gap, immigration and the growing influence of fundamentalism. Several immigrants, intellectuals and politicians are interviewed.
