A weekly news program that covers some of the week’s hottest topics through reports and/or interviews with individuals closely involved in them. In Barcelona, the Christmas tradition is gradually being lost and the typical Catalan Christmas meal is being replaced by more sophisticated ingredients, such as shellfish. This change in Christmas eating habits is clearly apparent at Mercabarna, the central food market for the city. Exotic fruits and fresh or frozen shellfish are now more popular items than the classic stuffed chicken. For more demanding palates, Mercabarna offers large sea bream, pineapples from the Ivory Coast, milk-cap mushrooms from the Leon and Castile regions of Spain, pears that taste like apples, live lobster and other delicacies that not only can fill an empty stomach, but can empty a full wallet.Type
