SNRT (Société Nationale de la Radiodiffusion Télévision) – with all its TV channels and radio stations – possesses Morocco’s most important audiovisual archives.

SNRT has participated with 400 documentaries in the Med-Mem project, which aims to promote the heritage of the Euro-Mediterranean zone by making the audiovisual archives of the region’s public TV organisations available online.

We have particularly focused on the documentary series “Amouddou”, which has won many awards at national and international festivals. This collection highlights the treasures revealed by travelling throughout Morocco, in terms of history, culture, tourism and ecology. The episodes made since 2001 have enabled viewers of the first channel to find out about historic events, ancient architectural monuments, prehistoric sites, tourist resorts, myths, customs, arts and craft activities (some of which are disappearing, and others springing up unnoticed), songs, dances and music.

The programme “Morocco in the 20th century”, with its 20 episodes, retraces the history of Morocco and the key political challenges it has faced, illustrated by archive sequences and historians’ views.

The magazine programmes “Inter vive” and “Media mag” deal respectively with Morocco’s relations with other countries in the Mediterranean basin,  and with the migration issue and the socioeconomic situation of migrants in the host country.

With its participation in the Med-Mem project, SNRT is aiming to contribute, alongside the other partners, in highlighting the value of Mediterranean audiovisual archives, by offering the younger generation, along with students and researchers, the opportunity to discover and share their respective audiovisual heritages.
