Abstract

The Tangiers-Mediterranean port wants to position itself as the new gate of Morocco to the world. With a capacity of 3.5 million containers, 500,000 trucks and 5 million passengers, the port will serve as a platform to link Asia, America, Europe and Africa, as well as a hub for offshore International traffic . This major project estimated at 15 billion DH aims at a local market of over 600 million inhabitants. This is the promise of a better future for the northern region of Morocco. The port and the free zones that surround it will create some 150,000 jobs by 2020 and welcome a thousand companies.
