Abstract

In Morocco, in the eighteenth century, people adopted rules for sharing water and invented ingenious techniques and systems for the mobilization and management of water. These basic rules were agreed on orally and accepted by the whole society, since they were developed by men of power to deal with conflicts, especially when the resources became scarce. The documentary shows in details the technical management and water sharing through the testimony of historians and the photos of some still existing hydraulic installations in the city of Fez and Tetouan.
