Abstract

Called "Tazoudasaurus Naïmi", named after the village of Tazouda where it was discovered, in the High Atlas mountains, this dinosaur of about nine meters long could be the "ancestor" of the sauropods in North America, "only" old of 140 million years. Up to date this is the oldest dinosaur in the world discovered in Morocco. The discovery of many bones of a sauropod in the High Atlas is "an extremely interesting and important event." It provides valuable information to paleontologists on the history of this species.
