Abstract

The Ibnou Youssef Madrasa (school) is one of the most important historical monuments in Marrakech. It was built by the Saadian Abd al Allah Ghalibl in 1564-1565. The name Ibnou youssef comes from the Sultan Ali Ben Youssef. It was the largest Koranic university where students from all around the world came to learn. The madrasa was for more than four centuries a home for students thirsty for knowledge in various sciences, including theology.
