Abstract

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is organizing "BioVision Alexandria" 2006 (BVA 2006) from 26 to 29 April. The B.A presents the "BioVision Alexandria" every two years, alternating with the "World Life Science Forum" held in Lyon every other two years. The theme of "BioVision Alexandria" 2006 was “New life sciences: changing lives". Dr Ismail Serageldin, chair of this session entitled "launching la main à la pâte" introduces H. El Mikaty, director of Planetarium sciences Center at Bibliotheca Alexandrina. She mentions this site is an opportunity for teachers who hope to change and develop traditional ways of teaching. “The problem with school education systems, is that teachers meet predefined application standards and remain connected to a specific curriculum which makes it difficult for them."
