Abstract

Dr Ismail talks about film industry, how it started and how it evolved until it reached the 21st century. He talked about the phenomenon of silent cinema, of the studio, the beginning of modern cinema and its system of stars producing, and the emergence of great artists in the seventies. He added that Egypt was one of the pioneers in filmmaking and talked about Youssef Chahine and his achievements.
