Abstract

Christian Nispen, professor of religious studies, at the University of Paris, talks about the role that can be played by the book “religious sense” in bringing religions closer to each other; despite the historical reality which affirms that religious differences were direct causes of many conflicts and wars. But the approach of father Giosanl in dealing with religion is linking religious sense with human situations and that prevents from rejecting the other, which is the absolute message of religions. Man starts from his concrete real life, not from complex philosophical theories or theological doctrines. For Father Giosani, man is a relation, and faith is a human attitude, not a set of ideas representing a rigid ideology. He thinks that faith is a deep achievement of human freedom, and that there is no conflict between the mind and the religious spirit.
