Abstract

The documentary refers to trees of great historical and religious value. These trees, most of which are centuries old, form a part of the religious tradition of the people of Cyprus and they are consider sacred. They can be found around monasteries, churches and chapels and their worship is connected with the holy person to which the church is dedicated to. The Citron trees in the ground of Panayia Sfalaggiotisa monastery at Agios Athanasios, Limassol - The laurel tree in front of the church of Philip the Apostle - The cypress of St. Nicholas in Kathikas - The strawberry tree Michael the Archangel at Kellaki, Limassol - The sycamore of Agia Mavri.
