AbstractA documentary dedicated to the life and work of the folk Cypriot painter Michalis Kkashalos. Among others, the painter himself talks about his art and presents some of his paintings, the subjects of which are inspired from the traditional village life of Cypriots. The film ends with shots from the funeral service of Kkashalos, who died a refugee following the Turkish invasion in 1974. Scenes depicting aspects from the traditional village life of Cypriots - Interview with Kkashalos - Various paintings - Interviews with Adamantios Diamantis (painter) and Panagiotis Sergis (Ministry of Education) - His home and workshop in his birthplace Assia - Kkashalos presents some of his paintings - Interview with his wife Mrs Irini - The church he donated in Assia - His funeral service.
