Abstract

The documentary features various old traditions and customs that mark the period of "Dodekaimero" (The Twelve Days of Christmas - the period beginning on Christmas Eve until the 5th of January). This episode presents Christmas customs which are taking place in various villages and regions of the island. Weaver in Phiti village - the customs of "Psissi" - Housewives in Lysos village - preparation of "christokoulloura" (Christmas loaves) and other doughs - Pig slaughtering - Preparation of "zalatina" (jellied pork) - The feast after the pig slaughtering.
