- At the Art and Culture Centre of the Rais Palace, crafts have the place of honor as spring begins.

- Following Paris and Amman, it is the turn of Algiers to host this itinerant exhibition called “prints and colors of the Mediterranean”,

- a partnership with the organization FEDA (Women and Development in Algeria),

- this event claims to be an encounter with creativity.

- That is to say that this is the 4th time that I am in Algeria.

- We held other events here and I had the chance to visit your country

- and besides to not only go to Algiers, but also to the South, in El KOLEA where we set in December a training for craftswomen

- and so the first thing that I have to say is that I feel home here,

- I was impressed one more time by the warm greetings and the hospitality and all the help we could benefit from to organize this event.

- For us, it is a very enriching experience because all we do, we do it to share it with the people, with the public,

- and their comments and acceptance keep our project alive.

- In this exhibition dedicated to crafts occupations, the visitor can discover during his colored walk weaving, embroidery, leather goods, and various types of crafts.

- This diversity of cultural expression reveals an ancient savoir faire enriched by several generations of craftsmen.

- Tradition and innovations meet into this will to move forward and beyond.

- The beautiful is often close to the tendencies of contemporary taste.

- You find yourself in an international event that gathers together a network of craftswomen on the Mediterranean border.

- It is organized by the “craftswomen” network. That developed into an association with the FEDA association that I represent, of which I am the head secretary.

- The craftswomen take part in it, their lead this organization,

- and our role as an association is to favor training, to favor the building of the structures, and to favor the meeting of the different areas.

- It is a means for exchange, to do common exchanges, and to better and to…

- It helps us as craftswomen not to find ourselves alone with what we do,

- it brings us help, it brings us many things, we have contacts with several girls who have this occupation.

- This love for handmade craft in the most beautiful of all is fully realized in the creations heavy with patterns, signs and symbols.

- Creations presented in harmony of colors and materials by Caroline Vinckel, consultant for design and crafts.

- A priori, I think that people like the atmosphere

- So the presentation is important, caring for presentation,

- it is also in training that I intent to have craftspeople giving, to always go a bit farther. We do something but then you have to know how to present it.
