Abstract

The personality of Emir Abdelkader seduced and sometimes conquered his own opponents. Marshal Bugeaud who fought him for years said of him: “He was a man of genius”. Abd El Kader Bin Mouhiddine, better known Emir Abdelkader, was a politician and a military leader; he will long resist the expeditionary force of French troops in Africa during their conquest of Algeria. He was also a writer, a poet, a philosopher and a Sufi theologian. He is considered in Algeria as behind the Algerian nation and the symbol of resistance against French colonialism.
