Abstract

This Assia Djebbar’s documentary film is made from archives, memory and history, on the colonial Maghreb based on the separation between the exotic images in use - organized by colonial forces to celebrate and applaud the visiting French politicians-and the reality experienced by Aboriginal people mentioned in the audiotape. In this film, The images suggest the French song of "The forgotten others".
