Abstract

Director and actor born in Algiers, Mustapha Badie (1927-2001) made his debut in the Arab theater municipal troupe of the Opera of Algiers, founded by Mahieddine Bachtarzi and Mustapha Kateb, before continuing his training at the ORTF. He directed El Hariq (the fire), a television series adapted from Mohamed Dib' s trilogy, which earned him an outstanding popular success and immortalized the character of Aini, thus propelling actress Chafia Boudraa to fame.
