Abstract

Beekeeping was practised as a secondary activity for a long time, but today it has known a considerable development in the wilaya ( province) of Batna. It is ranked second acrossthe country ( after Blida), in terms ofproduction volume. The region of the Aures currently has 2 500 to 3 000 beekeepers exploiting 60 000 hives.
