Abstract

Beni Saf is a commune and coastal city in Algeria in the wilaya of Aïn Témouchent, which owes its existence to the iron ore that has been found from Antiquity to the present day. Its past is marked by all the passages : Cretans, Mycenaeans, Phoenicians, Berbers, Numidians, Carthaginians, Romans and Arabs who have left their marks. Worn by the ravage of time, abandoned by men, the no less majestic iron ore factory overlooks the city and the harbour below.
