Abstract

Raised in 1933, the current building was officially inaugurated the 11 november 1935 in the Palais des Beaux Arts and called "Musée Demaeght". This Palace owns the museum, the municipal library and the Fine Arts school. At the time of independence, the museum was entrusted firstly to the Communal Popular Assembly of Oran and then to the Ministry of Culture now called "National Museum of Ahmed Zabana", in tribute to this great Martyr of the revolution.
