Abstract

This issue of " The riders of the word" presents the great artist Salah Jahin. Born in Shubra, Cairo, on December 25, 1930, Salah Jahin was ne of the well known Egyptian artists of his time. He began his career as an artist with roles in plays criticizing the society and politics. Later, he wrote poems for great singers such as, Abdelhalim Hafez, Oum Kalthoum and Sayed Mekkawi. Salah Jahin devoted much of his life to the cartoon. He was a man of deep leftist convictions who has always defended progressist ideas through his writings and his drawings. Salah Jahin died in 1986.
