Motovun is a town-monument, an ancient Istrian acropolis town located atop a 277 metre high hill, whose present appearance dates back to the Middle Ages, from the 12th and 13th century. Leading to the top of the hill and its Venetian town square is the longest Istrian staircase, with 1052 steps.Type
