2004Abstract
Matejuška is a small cove situated in the norht-west part of the Split harbour. The cove was formed between two reefs descending from the slopes of the Marjan hill towards the east. For a long time the cove has shielded fishermen’s boats against wind and waves. Fishermen for profession from Matejuška have been mentioned since 1507. Despite the development and expansion of the city, Matejuška has preserved its traditions and held a special place in the hearts of the citizens of SplitIt's. You don't necessary need to be local patriot to percive the natural beauties of Split harbour, nor in love with the past to notice the values of cultural heritage. The countries, rulers, customs, languages, way of life have changed, but every time period has left something behind. Some things should be remembered and some written down as a reminder to be taken out of oblivion.Type
