Abstract

Since its beginning, the Eco-center on the island of Cres has worked on emphasizing ecotourism as the only possible way of connecting the traditional way of living and natural values with economic development of this area. They are promoting the solution of successful coexistence of man and nature through public education. This integrated approach is the only guarantee of the preservation of natural and cultural-historical heritage, and its touristic promotion, so ecotourism is actually one of the best methods of nature protection.
