Hvar Lavandin (also known as Hvar lavender and budrovka) is a cross between true lavender and lavender broad. All lavandin (Lavandula x hybrida) have much more oil than true lavender, but the quality of this oil is weaker. Hvar lavender, due to differences in the chemical composition of oil, has a calming effect, as opposed to true lavender. However, Hvar lavender is a good painkiller. Croatia is one of the largest producers of lavender, which, due to ideal climate and good soil, mostly grows on hills and rocky slopes of the mid-Dalmatian island of Hvar. Blooming period at the end of June and begging of July, when fields of lavender enchant by their fragrance and intensive purple blue colour is a special experience to a visitor.Type
