Abstract

This story is about the life and history of the port of Sète, today an important trading port and the first Mediterranean fishing port, which makes live most of Sète people. Here, modernity and tradition, merchant ships and fishing boats coexist. Interview with Jacques Roure, a writer, on the city, its people, its traditions, and on the nesting life of the city and the port. Interview with the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sète (development of trade, evolution of the port infrastructures, economic and employment consequences). Interview with the Major Arbitrate of Sète, who speaks about the port, and Italian fishermen from Naples who settled in the early century.
