Abstract

Survey on soap makers in Marseille. After an account on Marseille soap factories, the documentary presents the Marseille soap manifacturing process. Today the only change is the mechanization of operations, the quality remains the same. This survey is supported by testimonies of members of industrial families in Marseille who have practised this profession for generations, abandoned it or transformed it, as Edmond Roux, Xavier de Roux, Jaques Ricard, Robert Valentin.
