A symposium on water in the Mediterranean began in Montpellier, with a hope for countries that lack fresh water: the possibility to drink sea water. It is not about desalination but finding fresh water sources nestled in the seabed. They are numerous especially in the Mediterranean. An experiment will be attempted between Vintimille and Menton to try to exploit one of these sources. The phenomenon of fresh water sources near the Mediterranean coast has been observed off many countries that lack water such as Turkey, Crete, Greece and Libya…The Phoenicians had already caught these sources and installed pipes.Type
