Abstract

Water is the main issue of the 21st century for a world population who is expected to double within 50 years. Water resources in the Arab world are clearly insufficient and desertification began in Southern Europe. Turkey, where water is not a problem, has just put up a project to export fresh water. A dam under surveillance and tankers allow to have fresh water reserves. In the future, Turkey wants to sell this water to other countries in the Middle East such as Iraq and Syria.
