- Algiers qualified this trip as very positive.

- The new agreements on the immigration of Algerian workers were expected,

- and then on August 25th, in Marseille, the murder of a bus driver by an immigrant provoked a flow of racism.

- The high number of Algerian workers in the region of Marseille saw their security threatened.

- Attacks cost to life to several of them.

- The Algerian government reacted last September 19th, suspending emigration to France.

- It is in this tense climate that the bombs launched against the Algerian Consulate in Marseille worsened the matter.

- That was on December 14th.

- 2 minutes after the explosion, our team was already on the site.

- And here is what they saw:

- in a few seconds death and unhappiness launched themselves on a narrow corridor where about 40 people were waiting.

- They were mainly Algerian workers with their wives, going through departure or return formalities, for France.

- The walls were taken in the explosion.

- In the entire street, the windows of the buildings and the cars were blown up.

- Demonstrations by the Algerians are feared but they remain calm.

- The French Police is accused of kindness towards the terrorists.

- It is a demonstration within the measure of the event itself.

- You see the strong emotion that embraces the whole Algerian colony of Marseille.

- It is one of my intentions to call the Algerians to calm, not to answer to provocation.

- In Algeria, emotion is tremendous.

- President Boumediene and his government say they are ready to renounce to the currency the expatriated Algerians bring if their safety and dignity are not secured.

- Any project of economical cooperation is conditioned by this problem of emigration.
