Abstract

This episode indentifies the old maritime professions, the importance of the sea as well as its secrets The initial activity of people there was fishing, then came the idea of building the port of Aqaba on the red sea to link Jordan with the world. After that a fleet was established together with the Jordan national shipping company in 1976 . This has provided jobs for young Jordanians in maritime navigation . Jordanian companies bought some ships .The jobs offered were many:Administrative , technical as well as jobs in the field of engineering, communication, rescuing and public safety.
