Abstract

Comment on the coast of Almafi ( near Naples). Until a few years ago, the major activity of the inhabitants of Positano was fishing. Today, Salvatore is the only fisherman in the area, others are almost exclusively dedicated to tourism; taking tourists on their boats to admire the beauty of the coast, says Gennaro. In 1700, Positano was a rich and busy city in commercial exchange, which provided well-being to the people, as evidenced by the numerous palaces built during those years. In the 1960's, Positano was considered as the homeland of fashion. Amalfi is located near Positano, and its inhabitants are mainly fishers and farmers. It is here that the famous lemons of Almafi are grown, they are then used to manifacture the Limoncello ( lemon liquor ). Ravelo is considered as the elite's meeting place, explains Caruso, who also tells a few stories related to famous people who stayed in his hotel.
