Abstract

The documentary focuses on the peasant tradition of the witches called “masche”, main characters of the storytelling in the rural side of Piedmont. Interview with a representative of the cultural association Arvangia about the project “Feeding the roots”, dedicated to the transmission of dialect and local traditions to the children of the school Diano d’Alba (Cuneo). An actress of the company “our theatre of Sinio” is acting a monologue, playing the role of a masca. Views of the church of Paroldo with apotropaic masks. Historical reconstruction with costumes of a masca sent to the stake.
