Abstract

The Maremma is a region of Tuscany which contains treasures of prehistoric times. Some fossils are even older, since they date back to 8 million years, such as the skeletons of Oréopithèques found in 1958 on Mount Bamboli, near Grosseto. The archaeologist Riccardo Chessa evokes the situation of the region during the prehistoric times and presents the archéodrome "Gli Albori" , the experimental laboratory of archeology located in Campagnatico ,near Grosseto, where you can discover and practise the lifestyle of the prehistoric man. Riccardo Chessa made a demonstration to start a fire with stones that he had previously chipped.
