Abstract

Jaunt in Morocco to explore the Atlantic coast from Casablanca to Agadir. The area retains many traces of the Portuguese presence that dates back to the fifteenth century. Casablanca, Morocco's largest city, has a rich architectural heritage, dating from the French colonial era. Views on the avenues, the gardens and the Hassan II mosque. Explore the city of El Jadida and the old Portuguese fort where Orson Welles shot "Othello" in 1947. Stopover in Safi, a Portuguese origin town, and Essaouira, the hippie city. The trip ends in Agadir, a city destroyed by a strong earthquake in 1960 and completely rebuilt. Agadir is a major fishing port in the region.
