Abstract

The report on the Sardinian mining heritage is continuing. In Masua, near Iglesias, in southern Sardinia, a company is working on the rehabilitation process of the mines. Interview with Agostino Tolu, technical director of IGEA, who explains the de-polluting process in the mining areas. Giovanni Battista Zurru, president of IGEA, evokes the rehabilitation process and the high cost for regional authorities. The aim is to develop new economical activity using existing infrastructures. Finally, Giampaolo Delrio, a mining expert, is interviewed in the cave of Geode Santa Barbara, one of the oldest in Europe.
