Abstract

During this episode of "Amouddou", we begin our journey towards the city of Tangier, passing along the south coast of Jabal Tarek (Gibraltar) towards Ksar Al Assaghir. The city, situated about 30 km from Tangier, which was the cradle of several great civilizations, appears today on the side lines put into oblivion. The Phonecians had chosen it as a center to develop their trade. The Carthaginious and Romans had always considered it as one of the cities of their great empire before the arrival of Muslims, the Portuguese and the Spanish. In this episode, we'll discover one of the most famous sites of northern Morocco, the cave of Ghar Khal, situated 270 m above the sea level facing the strait of Jabal Tarek.
