- This view from the top of the old town of Oujda could hide many difficulties that undergo its districts

- that are by the way not very different from other cities in Morocco.

- The antiquity of those buildings, the population growth and the development of the people’s needs

- influenced the daily life conditions in those alleys.

- We hope that everything will be good and beautiful, they neglected Oujda.

- Their houses have not crumbled yet. Up until now, we can see the wood that fell. Even if they are dead, their descendants still remain here.

- Lately the situation bettered a little, it is not like it used to be, we are waiting for a consolation from God Almighty.

- How do you want this town to look like in the future?

- I want to see it beautiful, its people to be satisfied, beautiful buildings.

- The rebuilding of the equipment of the alleys of the town started putting

- an end to the danger of contamination caused by the gutters to turn,

- in another phase to the restoration of historical monuments some of which being 600 years old.

- This operation had to take into consideration the social situation of the people.

- This project comes after great sufferings from part of the people

- as the people of the old part of the town are people with modest and precarious living conditions.

- They do not have the required financial means to overcome the existing problems,

- and we know that street cleaning requires great means.

- The rehabilitation project of the old town cannot happen to satisfy the expectations without the people’s voluntary participation.

- We did some fixing and set bins

- as the association is new and its members want the rehabilitation of this old town.

- 20 % of the houses cannot be used to a living,

- will there be procedures to respect the building process along the rehabilitation of those houses?

- Of course, this is our goal. We did deep studies before starting the making,

- this study showed that a large number of people who did buildings did not respect the laws,

- did not respect the memory of the town. The ancient part of the town lacks, as you know it,

- a design plan to keep its old image. We will start to do this plan this year,

- now the people who will build will know about what they will be able to build on the first storey or on the second storey or what they will be able to make.

- The way to do ornaments and the façade, that is what we lack in the town,

- but we will set this this year so that everyone comply with those norms.

- With the launching of the major step in the rehabilitation project of the old town of Oujda,

- we are expecting that sociological, economic and cultural aspects of the memory of the town be launched one more time.
