Abstract

Documentary series of six episodes presenting the conceptions of Moroccan political and cultural figures who visited Europe between the 17th century and the beginning of the 20th century. These personalities witnessed and recorded the industrial and economic progress, as well as the social and political transformations in the northern bank of the Mediterranean, and their repercussions on Morocco. The first episode deals with the Moroccans' perception of the other "the European", which is between acceptance and rejection, according to the travelers' writings. The religious shade prevailed in this perception as the European Christian was considered as an atheist.
