Abstract

Every October, flocks of white storks arrive to Morocco. They come from the cold European regions to spend winter in the vicinity of the city of Rabat, where the climate is warmer. It is a transit station on their way to the Great Lakes region, then they come back to Europe at the beginning of summer taking the same way, covering a distance of about 9600 km. Storks use poles carrying electric cables, houses roofs or high trees to build their nests. They keep the same nests for years, unless the latter are damaged or not found.
